I'm Katie, the executive designer and owner of Casa Cordova Designs.

I’m passionate about homes that are aesthetically pleasing, functional, and that have a good dose of real life to them. Living out of a picture-perfect-magazine all the time is just not realistic for me, and probably the majority of America feels the same. I also am a big proponent of having a space done on a real life budget. You can have a well designed home, and not have to sell your arm & leg. Maybe just your arm…

I love to see a room’s potential, and bring it to life. I think that’s a valuable asset to have in this design profession. I have enjoyed serving my community as the executive designer here, but recently have loved taking a step back to pass the baton on to my dear friend and college Kelsey.

Kelsey and I have been doing design work together for nearly a decade now, and it has been a pleasure to officially welcome her onto the Casa Cordova Design team as our lead designer. Kelsey is now the hands and feet of our company and has taken over the field design work while I pursue other passions

I have some weird quirks though. Like how the term is sofa—not couch. And I’m pretty adamant that black and white are not colors. Other than that, I’m pretty levelheaded, and ready to listen to your desire for how you want your home to feel. Even if it is just reassuring you that your choices are well put together and thought out. Sometimes we just need that reassurance and nudge to make the choices we are afraid to make in our own spaces.

I think we all really want a warm, inviting, well designed space. A space to gather and feel at home.

I also understand how overwhelming putting a space together can feel. The feeling of not knowing where to start, or stop for that matter. I get that sometimes proportion is just plain hard to get right. Or the feeling of something just being off, but you can’t quite put your finger on it.

I have been there. And now I want you to have confidence in your own space! Whether you rent or own your own home.

For as long as I can remember I have been playing around with room layouts, color, patterns, design themes, and decor. My parents graciously let me work out all those weird feelings of fumbling through design and home decor from a young age. When we work together on your home, remind me to tell you about the time my parents let me choose the colors for their living room that were reminiscent of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich… and how they let me redeem myself years later with a complete room makeover. Shoutout to my mom & dad!

There is so much more I could ramble on about with design. The main takeaway I hope you have is: this is real life, and real design to fit it.
